Pink Poppie florist Aroha Hebberd is one of five finalists for the national under-21 florist title after coming second in the Flonzi (Florists New Zealand Incorporated) competition at the Ellerslie International Flower Show over the weekend.
Miss Hebberd could not be contacted this morning, but Flonzi chairman Garry Knight said he was "more than impressed" with her efforts. "It was so close; she did really well."
Ten young florists from around New Zealand competed for the five spots in September's Worldskills national floristry finals.
The winner there will travel to the London Worldskills International Floristry competition in 2011 as New Zealand's representative.
