Blenheim people who noticed milky water with a funny taste coming out of their taps on Tuesday can breathe easily – the council says the problem is solved and was not dangerous.

Marlborough District Council engineer Stephen Rooney said nine concerned people called the council on Tuesday.

The water supply in Bomford St was accidentally overdosed with lime when it was reconnected to the main plant after construction. The plant was shut down and the lime was flushed out.

It produced a high level of PH in the water but had no health impact, Mr Rooney said.
