The asking price for Marlborough houses rose to $381,320 in December, Realestate.co.nz figures show.

Compared with the average price from the previous three months, the price of the average home rose 2.2 per cent.

There were 129 new Marlborough properties listed last month, 11 per cent down on December 2010.

The Realestate.co.nz report says the Marlborough residential market, like most other regions, is balanced between buyers and sellers.

Realestate.co.nz represents more than 95 per cent of all listings.
