Le Cafe has the best musicKAT PICKFORD
BV Gourmet is the best cafe in Marlborough and Le Cafe the best music venue with dining, says top of the south magazine Wild Tomato.
BV Gourmet was recognised as Marlborough's Best Cafe in the Wild Tomato Dine Out Awards 2012.
The Blenheim urban grocery delicatessen Bon Vivant Gourmet on Park Tce, dubbed BV by customers, was opened in June last year.
Business partners Janet Enright and Vicki Young opened it as a retail side to the catering business they started in 2008.
The delicatessen stocks vegetables, coffee from Linkwater, cheese made in the Marlborough Sounds, bread from Redwoodtown, and preserves, oils and sauces from many different producers.
Ms Enright said their success comes down to a lot of regular customers and friendly staff.
And Picton's Le Cafe on London Quay has won best music venue in the awards.
The cafe was opened in 1995. Owner Peter Schoni, a chef, launched Le Cafe as a live music venue when he took over the business in 2000.
Le Cafe regularly features live, original, world-class bands and artists from New Zealand and abroad.
