The Blenheim railway station may soon be home to a new cafe, as potential operators wait for confirmation of a lease.
KiwiRail property development manager Mark Baylis said the operators had put in their conditions of the lease and were "ticking off the little things" such as council regulations, finance and car parking.
Confirmation on the lease is expected to be announced in a few weeks, Mr Baylis said. "They're good operators, they already have a builder organised. They know their stuff."
KiwiRail has been looking for a tenant since the Blenheim i-Site moved out and renovation work on the historic railway station was completed in March.
