A man on trial in Blenheim this week has been acquitted on two sexual violation charges and convicted on two assault charges.
The jury found Joseph Benjamin Bertogg, 25, of Blenheim, not guilty on two charges of sexual violation but guilty on one charge of assaulting a female and one of assault with intent to injure.
The jury deliberated for about three hours before it returned its verdicts about 3.30pm yesterday.
Judge Peter Butler released Bertogg on bail to appear for sentencing for the assaults on August 15.
