Three cars crashed at the intersection of Main and Stuart streets in Blenheim about 4.30pm yesterday, police say.
Constable Michelle Stagg, of Blenheim, said a 52-year-old woman driving north on Stuart St in a Nissan car had failed to give way to a 36-year-old man driving a Honda car west on Main St.
The man was unable to avoid the collision and crashed into the Nissan, Miss Stagg said.
The impact of that crash pushed the Nissan into the path of a Mitsubishi car being driven east along Main St by a 51-year-old woman.
All the drivers suffered minor injuries and the cars were damaged, Miss Stagg said.
Police inquiries are continuing, but it was likely the 52-year-old woman would face charges, Miss Stagg said.
