Two men will appear in the Blenheim District Court after a bag of coal worth less than $15 was stolen from a Blenheim service station.
A 22-year-old labourer and a 25-year-old vineyard worker were arrested about 1.10am for theft after a 20-kilogram bag of coal was taken from BP 2go Blenheim on Main St.
BP 2go employee Darryl Langmuir said police contacted the service station after stopping the two men, who were walking down the street carrying the bag of coal.
One man had gone into the shop to buy a pie while the other allegedly took off with the coal.
The men are to appear in the Blenheim District Court on Monday.
