A 59-year-old man injured his head and chest after he fell from his motorcycle in Renwick on Saturday.
St John ambulance operations team manager Pete Davidson said St John was called to the intersection of State Highway 63 and Anglesea St, in Renwick, at 3.25pm.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash. It is believed the bike went out of control when it went into gravel on a corner.
The man had moderate chest and head injuries and was taken by ambulance to Wairau Hospital, in Blenheim.
The Renwick Fire Brigade was also called. A hospital spokesman said the man had been treated and discharged.
