A night of glamour and dancing for the Marlborough Hospice is back on after illness threatened to stop the party.
Hair by Kardos hairdressers Debbie Jensen and Donna Tupautou organised the Glitz and Glamour in the Vines ball to fundraise for Hospice Marlborough on July 28.
However, the ball had to be postponed after more than 110 people were unable to make the night because of illness, including Mrs Tupautou.
Instead the ball will be held at The Winery Riverlands on October 13 and Mrs Tupautou said they had received great support with only seven people cancelling their tickets.
The pair said they decided to run the fundraiser after speaking to clients and friends who have worked at or used the hospice.
"The hospice people are amazing people and they run on the smell of an oily rag so we wanted to do something for them," Mrs Tupautou said.
While the planned red carpet had to be scrapped with the date change, the night would still include a free glass of champagne and a photographer will be on hand to take pictures. Marlborough Boys College student Hadley Anderson will provide music as the guests arrive before The Vague as Brothers band take over to lead the dancing, Mrs Tupautou said.
Businesses had also been very generous donating items for a fundraising auction. The auction items will be posted on the Hospice Marlborough website and people will be able to bid online.
Tickets available from Hair by Kardos, The Hospice Shop, Thomas's, Red Hot Fashions, and Sounds Connection Picton
