What a wealth of learning arranged
One of my mottos is seize the day - make the most of your opportunities.
Luckily for us the Marlborough Adult and Community Education (ACE) Network is hosting the national launch of Adult Learners' Week from September 3 to 9 and folk will be able to seize this opportunity to sample many learning activities from about 70 ACE providers.
On September 1 and 2 the Marlborough Newcomers Network will be hosting lunchtime BBQs at Bunnings so here's a chance to witness newcomers embracing Kiwi culture. On Monday, September 3, our own renowned sports commentator, Tony Johnson, will be guest speaker at the official Adult Learners' Week launch and awards ceremony at the Marlborough Civic Theatre at 7pm.
Do come along (no charge) and hear some of our fabulous talent such as our Pasifika youth, the Heart Song Singers and Bella Voce from Marlborough Girls' College. We will also be celebrating the achievements of local adult learners, educators and providers.
The Marlborough ACE Network Expo will showcase about 20 ACE providers from 10am till 2pm, on Tuesday at Stadium 2000. There will be plenty of opportunities there!
On Tuesday and Wednesday, REAP Marlborough and Barnardos will be hosting the much-loved entertainer Pio Terei who will give two parenting talks.
On Friday, September 7, the Blenheim South Rotary Club has a charity dinner and auction with guest speaker Sir Ray Avery - another fabulous opportunity to learn.
