The action may be slow and error-riddled but it should certainly be entertaining at Lansdowne Park in Blenheim tomorrow when a bygone generation try to turn back the clock in the Topsi Golden Oldies rugby and netball festival.
Of course, many of the participants aren't that old and there will be some very good players among the many who are coming from far and wide as well as several Marlborough-based teams.
The weekend kicks off with registration tonight at the Clubs of Marlborough. The opening ceremony is tomorrow at Lansdowne Park from 10.30am and the first games kick off at 11am with netball starting at 12 noon, also on grass at the same venue.
Marlborough is represented in the rugby by the Renwick Valley Vandals, the Moutere Magpies, the Beavertown Boofheads and the Marlborough Vintage Musseleers, while in the netball, the Waitohi Wurriors, the Marlborough Musselettes and the Central Randoms fly Marlborough's flag.
