A vineyard worker was arrested at the weekend after a burglary at the Redwoodtown Countdown on September 6.
A cellphone had been stolen from the supermarket.
Tui Simon Kara, 33, a labourer of Redwoodtown, appeared in the Blenheim District Court yesterday on charge of unlawfully entering a building.
He was remanded to October 8 so he can apply for legal aid.

A 19-year-old unemployed man was arrested about 1.20pm on Friday for contravening a protection order after a domestic incident.
A 51-year-old fisherman was arrested at 2.20pm on Friday for assault after a domestic incident in Mayfield.
A 15-year-old female student was arrested at 12.55am on Saturday for theft after she allegedly failed to pay for a taxi fare. She has been referred to the youth aid section.
A 19-year-old unemployed man was arrested at 8pm on Saturday for disorderly behaviour after an incident at McDonald's in Blenheim. He was due to appear in court yesterday.
A 21-year-old engineer was arrested at 8.15pm on Saturday for trespass after he returned to McDonald's having been trespassed. He has been bailed to appear in court on October 8.
An 18-year-old digger operator was arrested about 2.20am on Sunday for disorderly behaviour after an incident on Scott St, Blenheim. He was given a pre-charge warning.
A 37-year-old unemployed man was arrested at 5.20pm on Sunday for shoplifting after $94.97 of goods were taken from The Warehouse, Blenheim.
A 34-year-old labourer was arrested for assault after an incident at a Redwood St house at 6pm on Sunday.
