It was a sellout for under-fives supergroup The Polkadots yesterday.
Well it would have been if the Blenheim concert wasn't free.
Show organiser Marlborough 4 Fun had made 850 tickets available on its website for the 50-minute singing and dancing show, but a crowd of about 1000 adults and children arrived, chief executive Katrina Lange said.
Mother Michelle Elliott said she was a bit worried when she arrived with her three children and saw the queue stretching out the door, but the children were excited to be at the show.
Group member Lincoln Reid, who performs as Mr Bop, said the group of six Auckland parents formed The Polkadots three years ago. This was their first national tour, which had so far been a great success.
