Helen Margaret Nicoll died peacefully on Friday, just three weeks after receiving a letter from the Queen congratulating her on her 100th birthday.
Mrs Nicoll, nee Jacobs, died in her sleep at the Bethsaida Retirement Village in Blenheim about 11am on Friday. Mrs Nicoll celebrated her 100th birthday at the retirement village on September 26.
Her death notice says a funeral service will be held at St Christopher's Anglican Church in Blenheim on Thursday morning.
