The son of a Rarangi jeweller whose home was burgled just days after he died is waiting to hear if anyone has been able to help police with their inquiries.
Jamie Weir said he called police in Blenheim on Sunday, but was not able to speak to the sergeant leading the investigation.
Mr Weir had hoped someone would have come forward by now with information on the burglary, he said.
He believes thieves stole up to 30 pieces of jewellery from his father's home on Monday or Tuesday last week.
The value was not clear as the pieces belonged to customers of jewellery shops for whom his father did repairs.
Philip Weir, a father-of-three who lived alone in Rarangi, was found dead by his neighbour on October 14 sitting in his recliner, Mr Weir said.
