Cuddon Cycling Marlborough's riders will face a tough challenge when they compete in the club championships on the hilly Seaview course at Seddon tomorrow.

The open grade 40km massed start event covers two laps of the course with six championship title sashes at stake.

The Mills Cup, for fastest time, will be fought out amongst the usual scratch markers Tony Catterick, Brodie Catterick, Gerard van Antwerpen, Josh Scott, Jeremy McKenzie, Ray Dunstan and Andrew Jamieson.

The battle for championship titles will see a lot of tactics from the frontrunners.

The battle for the masters 45-54 years title will be a hot contest between Tony Catterick, Dunstan and Gerard van Antwerpen, while the senior men's title will see Scott and Jamieson as major contenders.

Brodie Catterick and McKenzie will be favourites for the junior under-19 men and masters 35-44 years titles respectively.

Outside of the top group the favourites for the masters 55-plus will be a battle between Brent Harris, Ben Verhoef and Martin Fletcher.

The women's title will see Rhonda Murphy and Michelle Catterick in contention. The Gleeson Challenge Cup will go to the winner of the sealed handicap section.

The junior under-17 grade riders will compete over one lap of the course with two championship title sashes at stake.

Quinn Karwowski will be favourite for the junior under-17 men's title, with the minor places a likely clash between Dylan Vile, Thomas Westend, Ethan Batt and Ethan Brydon.

The junior women's title will see Georgia Catterick as favourite.

All riders are to assemble at the Starborough Tavern for registration between 1pm and 1.15pm for a 1.30pm start.
