The Nelson Marlborough Rescue helicopter flew two missions to the Marlborough Sounds yesterday.
The first callout was to Bulwer, in the Marlborough Sounds, at 11am to a 35-year-old woman who had back-spinal pain. She was treated both on scene and on board by a St John intensive care paramedic and flown to Nelson Hospital.
The second callout was at 4.18pm to St Omer in the Kenepuru Sound to a 59-year-old man who had fallen and injured himself while tree cutting.
Due to the location and terrain the on-board intensive care paramedic had to be winched into the scene. The man was then winched on board and flown to Wairau Hospital.
