Big prizes at Christmas fair
Tua Marina School is holding its fourth annual Christmas fair this Saturday at the school from 10am till 2pm.
The fair will feature a lucky gate prize of a rugby ball signed by Richie McCaw and Buck Shelford. This will be drawn after the live auction, with the winner needing to be present.
"This is the first time we will have a lucky gate prize, with entry being free," said Tua Marina Parent Teacher Association (PTA) chairwoman Melissa Bryant.
"The fair has been very popular in the past and we hope to have a good turnout again this year."
Organised by the PTA, the fair will have a variety of stalls and activities - from a white elephant stall, to face and nail painting, quad trail rides, baked goods, paintball and a chocolate wheel.
Many parents have done their part by baking the numerous treats that will be for sale, with the staff doing their bit on the day to make it a success.
An auction will be held, with great prizes up for grabs like a Bluebridge ferry voucher worth more than $600, a Rainbow Ski pass and Alpine Lodge accommodation, wine, and a hunting trip with Billy Hebberd.
Melissa said local businesses had been "great" support.
The fair is a major fundraiser for the school, with the hope it will raise enough money for a new hard court surface for ball sports.
