Man attacked by dog
A 23-year-old man spent the night in hospital after his face and arm were bitten by a boxer-cross dog in Blenheim on Thursday.
St John ambulance personnel were called to a house on Faulkland Dr, Witherlea, about 6pm.
St John operations team leader Pete Davidson said the man had minor injuries to his lower jaw and arm, including cuts and lacerations.
He was taken to Wairau Hospital, in Blenheim, where he was admitted. A hospital spokeswoman said the man was discharged on Saturday.
Marlborough District Council compliance manager Garth Congdon said the victim had told animal control staff he would not make a formal complaint.
The owner of the dog surrendered the animal and the incident was still being investigated.
