Meat theft brings warning

Police are reminding people about securing buildings after an Alana Pl resident reported meat being stolen from a freezer in a garage. The resident believed it could have been happening for some time.

Drunk argument

A 35-year-old unemployed man was arrested on Monday night after two drunk people were arguing at a house on Maxwell Rd. Police said the man was held until he was sober.

Arrest over bar theft An "opportunist" person who took a significant amount of money from a bar in Kaikoura has been arrested and most of the money recovered. Police said the offender would appear in court next month charged with theft.
