A Blenheim man who tried to escape a driving charge ended up in even more trouble.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Mark Lucas said Tupo-vito Su'a, 21, gave his brother's details when he was stopped by police in Auckland on October 16.
However, there was an outstanding warrant for his brother, and Su'a was arrested on that charge.
Later at the police station, Su'a admitted he had given a false name and was driving while forbidden, Mr Lucas said.
In the Blenheim District Court yesterday, Su'a admitted a charge of driving while forbidden and was fined $300.
