A senior firefighter has reminded people about being good neighbours after a callout in Renwick yesterday.
The Renwick volunteer fire brigade were called out about 1.45pm when a resident reported her house was full of smoke.
Senior station officer Grant Flynn said an Inkerman St resident had started a rubbish fire in their back yard and the smoke had drifted into the neighbour's home.
He reminded people to let their neighbours know they were starting a rubbish fire.
"A bit of courtesy is all you need," he said.
It was also a good idea to light the fire when the wind was not blowing in the direction of the neighbour's house, he said.
The crew was at the scene for about 10 minutes.
