A 17-year-old man was arrested at The Warehouse, Blenheim, on Wednesday after brandishing a plastic toy knife and a plastic gun, police say.

The man had already been trespassed from The Warehouse when the incident occurred, Constable Andrew Holdaway, of Blenheim, said.

Police were called after the man started running around inside the shop with a plastic toy knife.

When police arrived, he was pointing a plastic gun at friends outside, Mr Holdaway said.

He was arrested at 1.40pm for trespass and disorderly behaviour.

He was given a pre-charge warning for the disorderly behaviour charge and is to appear in Blenheim District Court on the trespass matter.

An 18-year-old man was also arrested on Wednesday for shoplifting and trespass after soft drink was stolen from Countdown Blenheim.

The unemployed man was arrested at 12pm after being tracked down by police using CCTV footage, Mr Holdaway said.

He is to appear in the court on December 10.
