Christmas party arrests

 in Blenheim over whether the night shift was better than the day shift, say police.

A 26-year-old orchard worker and a 23-year-old process worker were arrested near Lansdowne Park at 4.15pm on Friday.

Both men were given a pre-charge warning and released once they had sobered up.

Liquor ban breach

An 18-year-old student was arrested for breaching the liquor ban on Friday.


He was found drinking near the Boathouse Theatre on Horton St, in Blenheim.

A 28-year-old man was held in custody on Saturday after being found so drunk he was unable to look after himself, Mr Holdaway said.

The seasonal worker was arrested at 1.50am and released when sober.

Chased girlfriend

A 20-year-old man was arrested on Saturday after chasing his girlfriend along Market St, in Blenheim.

Police charged the man with domestic assault, disorderly behaviour and smoking cannabis.

Woman in scrap

A 22-year-old woman was arrested at 1.50am for disorderly behaviour on Sunday after a fight in Scott St.

When police arrived, the two groups stopped fighting, but the woman tried to continue the fight, Mr Holdaway said.

She was later given a pre-charge warning and released when sober.
