The Marlborough Rural Fire Authority is still investigating three fires in the Taylor Pass area on Monday.

Marlborough deputy principal rural fire officer and fire investigator John Foley said he is looking at the sites of the fire and trying to find out how they were started.

Police and firefighters believe the fires were deliberately lit.

Marlborough chief rural fire officer Richard McNamara said the fires are believed to be arson and match the pattern of three other suspicious fires in Marlborough on November 2.

Police are asking the public for information.
