Woman charged with drink-driving causing death

A Canvastown woman involved in a fatal car crash on October 2 has been charged with drink-driving causing death.

Kiri Matthew , 43, of Canvastown, appeared before a registrar in the Blenheim District Court on Thursday on a charge of driving with excess breath alcohol of 948mcg (legal limit 400mcg) causing death and was remanded on bail to reappear on January 14.

Warren Brett Wilson, 58, also of Canvastown, died as a result of the crash.
