Some of Marlborough's top secondary school students were acknowledged for their hard work when they received scholarships at a ceremony in Blenheim on Friday.

The Marlborough Lines Tertiary Study Awards, which began in 1991, are aimed at acknowledging high achieving Marlborough students who plan to continue studying at a tertiary level.

A total of $18,500 was awarded to seven recipients from Marlborough Boys' and Girls' colleges, Queen Charlotte College, and Rai Valley Area School.

The seven students are Leatham Landon-Lane, Christopher Swan, Rebecca Forgesson, Sonia Ginders, Cheyenne Conroy-Mosdell, Justin Richards, and Jacques Breedt.

Each scholarship was worth between $1000 and $3500.
