A 44-year-old man was arrested for assaulting police after he was found breaching the liquor ban near the Blenheim Railway Station, say police.
The unemployed man was arrested in the Sinclair St carpark at 1.40pm on Tuesday, said constable Andrew Holdaway, of Blenheim.
When the man was put in the police car, the police officer who arrested him was assaulted and had minor facial injuries.
The man was also charged with breaching the liquor ban, disorderly behaviour and assault with intent to injure.
He was held in custody to appear in the Blenheim District Court yesterday.
A 35-year-old man was arrested at the same time for also breaching the liquor ban and breaching his bail conditions.
He was held in custody and was to appear in the Blenheim District Court yesterday.
Police arrested two more people on Tuesday.
A 23-year-old man was arrested for possession of cannabis and breaching his community work, Mr Holdaway said.
He was arrested at 12.35pm and was held in custody to appear in the Blenheim District Court yesterday.
A 17-year-old man was arrested after a hat was stolen from Stirling Sports in Blenheim. The student was arrested at 2.45pm and is to appear in the Blenheim District Court on January 17.
