Police are appealing for information after a 43-year-old Wellington man visiting Nelson failed to return from a fishing trip on Thursday last week.
Lee Kevin Carson had travelled to Nelson on his own in his camper van.
He was last seen on January 17 when he left a Nelson address to go fishing.
Friends of Mr Carson's contacted police when he did not return later in the day as expected. He has not been seen or heard from since.
He was travelling in a white Isuzu campervan with a brown stripe and a black box on the back. The registration is RB7822 and the words 'Time Out' are painted on it.
Tasman district police communications manager Barbara Dunn would not say whether police are treating the case as suspicious at this stage due to lack of information but said they are concerned.
It is not known when or if he was due to return to Wellington.
Anyone who has seen Mr Carson or his campervan, or has any information on where he may be can contact Blenheim police on 03 578 5279 or contact Senior Constable Dave Colville at Nelson Police Station on 03 546 3840.
Anonymous information can be given by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
