Sounds from Moenui Bay band Little Oceans will fill Neil Finn's Roundhead recording studios in Auckland this week as they film and record six live music tracks.
The trio, Josh Edmonds, guitar, Sam Edmonds, drums, and Matt Johnston, vocals, have been friends since they were 5 years old and played at being rock stars, says the Edmonds' father, Rick Edmonds.
Wearing the Little Oceans' ''band promoter'' hat, he said the band earned a $10,000 NZ on Air funding award for its single 2012, Focus Harder. That was followed by an afternoon's recording time offered at the Roundhead studio. The live-band footage will be used on YouTube and television.
Little Oceans, formerly known as Recommended By Your Mom, is based in Nelson where band members all completed contemporary music diplomas at the Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology. Their next Marlborough performance will be at the Havelock Mussel Festival on March 16
