A 17-year-old youth was tracked by a police dog unit early Sunday morning after he had thrown a glass bottle into a property in Blenheim, say police.

Police were called to a party on Alabama Rd after midnight when the bottle was thrown into the property, said Constable Andrew Holdaway, of Blenheim.

The offender then ran away and was tracked a short distance about 1am. The youth was held in custody until sober and released with a pre-charge warning, Mr Holdaway said.

A 23-year-old unemployed man was arrested for fighting near the police station in Main St on Sunday.

The man had been knocked to the ground after a fight with a group of people about 3pm.

As the group walked away, he ran up and hit one of the men from behind, Mr Holdaway said.

He is to appear in the Blenheim District Court on February 11.

A 41-year-old man was arrested on Sunday after he was caught in his landlord's house, Mr Holdaway said.

The man was arrested about 5.30pm and charged with being unlawfully on the property.

He will appear in the Blenheim District Court on February 4.

A 44-year-old woman was arrested after being caught driving while disqualified.

The woman, an escort, was arrested at 11.55pm on Sunday in Redwood St.

Her vehicle was impounded and she is to appear in the Blenheim District Court on Monday.

An 18-year-old man was arrested at 2.30am on Saturday for breaching the peace outside the Loft on Kinross St.

The same unemployed man was arrested again at 11.55am after police were called to a Litchfield St address where he was acting in a manner that was likely to cause a violent incident to start, Mr Holdaway said.

The man was given a pre-charge warning and released.

An unemployed man was arrested outside Fairweathers bar on Scott St after he harassed and abused door staff when they tried to close the bar.

The man, who was drunk, was arrested at 3.10am on Sunday for breaching the peace. He was held in custody and released when sober, Mr Holdaway said.

An 18-year-old unemployed man was arrested for breaching his bail at 2.10pm on Sunday.

He was held in custody and was to appear in the Blenheim District Court yesterday.

A 34-year-old man was arrested on Kinross St for disorderly behaviour.

The man was arrested at 11.50pm on Sunday and was released when sober with a pre-charge warning.

A 27-year-old man was arrested on Friday on a warrant after failing to appear in the Blenheim District Court.
