Cyclist injured in collision with car
A cyclist was taken to Wairau Hospital yesterday after being hit by a car in Blenheim.
The woman, thought to be in her 30s, suffered minor chest and hip injuries. The accident happened at the corner of Hutcheson St and Parker St about 9am.
Sergeant Mike Western, of Blenheim, said it appeared a 4x4 vehicle coming out of Parker St failed to give way to the cyclist on Hutcheson St.
Passing motorists stopped and directed traffic until police and St John Ambulance arrived.
A hospital spokeswoman said the cyclist was treated and discharged yesterday.
