A 22-year-old Christchurch man was taken to Wairau Hospital after the ute he was in left the road and rolled in a paddock on State Highway 1 near Lake Grassmere yesterday.
St John operations team manager Pete Davidson said the man suffered moderate injuries to his head, neck and arm.
The incident happened about 2.50pm on the intersection of Marfells Beach Rd and SH1.
A Wairau Hospital spokeswoman said at 5pm yesterday that the man was being treated in the emergency department but was in a stable condition.
