Police are appealing for information from the public after a woman told police she was sexually assaulted in her home by an unknown intruder early Saturday morning.
Detective Sergeant Dave Woodley said the woman was staying at a house in Kinross St, Blenheim, when the attack is said to have happened about 4.30am on Saturday.
The intruder has been described as an adult man with a dark complexion. He was about 163 centimetres tall and had a wiry build.
He had dark hair with stubble on his face and was last seen wearing a striped shirt and a bandanna on his head.
He may have been riding a bicycle, Mr Woodley said.
The Blenheim police are keen to talk to anyone who matches this description or may know someone who does.
Anyone who saw a man fitting this description in or near the intersection of Kinross and Lybster St between 4am and 6am on Saturday, February 2, please contact the Blenheim police.
