An elderly couple is due to appear in the Kaikoura District Court in March charged with intentional damage and burglary after they took out a personal issue on another person's house.
The couple from Kaikoura, both 75, appeared in the Blenheim District Court last Tuesday after having been arrested the previous night.
Sergeant Julian Lewis said the elderly couple had taken matters into their own hands over an ongoing personal matter between the two parties.
They had smashed the external windows of a house with a hammer and had also smashed the television set inside the house. The property owner was present at the time.
Upon leaving they had taken some property, which was where the burglary charge came in, Mr Lewis said.
The couple was found a short time after the event, and taken to Blenheim to appear the following day.
They will appear in Kaikoura on March 8.
