A 37-year-old man arrested in Renwick early Saturday morning was charged with carrying an offensive weapon, namely an axe, not disorderly behaviour as reported in the Marlborough Express yesterday.
The wrong information was supplied.
The man was arrested at 12.05am in Havelock St after an argument broke out among a group of people at the house, said Constable Andrew Holdaway, of Blenheim.
Police were called after the man picked up an axe.
He then left the house, dropping the axe along the way.
A police dog unit tracked him down a short time later and he was arrested and charged with possession of an offensive weapon.
He is to appear in the Blenheim District Court on February 18.
