They might not be the cuddliest creatures in the world, but with a history going back 200 million years, the tuatara, dubbed a living fossil, is certainly among the most interesting.
Conservation Kids NZ are holding two workshops all about this fascinating creature on Sunday at the Dolphin Watch and Nature Tours Office on the waterfront at Picton.
The workshops are as much fun as they are informative and include slide shows, educational craft activities, competitions and tuatara games.
There are two sessions for your budding naturalists - 1.30pm till 3pm for ages 4 to 7 or 3.30pm till 5pm for ages 8 to 13.
