A 45-year-old Blenheim man has pleaded not guilty to two charges of assaults on police officers and has been remanded back to Blenheim for a status hearing next month.
Richard James Hayden also denied a charge of disorderly behaviour, but admitted a breach of the town's liquor ban.
Hayden entered his pleas when he appeared in the Christchurch District Court session at the Nga Hau e Wha Marae yesterday.
Judge Michael Crosbie remanded him on bail to the status hearing at the Blenheim District Court on March 5.
The charges arise from an incident in Blenheim before Christmas.
Hayden denies assaulting a police officer with intent to injure, assaulting a police officer with intent to obstruct him in the execution of his duty, and disorderly behaviour at the Blenheim Railway Station car park.
