Grassmere farmer Doug Avery opens the 2013 season of Marlborough Forest and Bird talks this evening at the Blenheim School Hall.
The Avery family have been farming in south Marlborough for nearly 100 years.
Doug is a keen proponent of overcoming the rural and urban divide as well as making the most of opportunities in New Zealand agriculture to improve environmental outcomes.
He is an impassioned and entertaining speaker and his subject, "Synchronising agriculture better with nature" is one close to his heart.
The talk begins at 7.30pm.
