Nelson Marlborough rescue helicopter flew a 52-year-old man from West Sabine Hut in the Nelson Lakes National Park.
The man, who is from Putaruru in central North Island, suffered moderate injuries in a fall.
He was assessed and treated at the scene before being flown to Nelson Hospital .
Yesterday, the helicopter crew flew to the George Stream area in the Seaward Kaikoura Ranges to help a tramper with chest pain.
The 53-year-old man from Hamilton was with a party of about eight trampers in a rocky riverbed when the call was made about 1.30pm, the spokesperson said.
The patient and paramedic were winched on to the helicopter because the rugged terrain prevented it from landing, and flown to Nelson Hospital.
