Home business owners hold get-together
Looking for something different to do during your lunch break on Thursday?
Head over to the Blenheim Club on the corner of High and Henry streets between 11.30am to 2pm and check out the free Lunchtime Mini Expo.
About nine small businesses owners, who work mainly from home, will be there showcasing their products and services.
The mini expo was organised by a group of like-minded small business owners.
Organiser Lorna Whitehead, the region's director of Mary Kay beauty products, said it aimed to help business owners raise their profiles and build contacts.
"One of the main reasons we set it up was for people who work from home, to get out of the house and meet other people and spread the word on what they do.
"There is a lot of hidden talent in Marlborough, with people constantly diversifying and adding extra services."
Admin Help 4 U owner Deedee Bancroft who helped start up the mini expos last year said the support and motivation gained from meeting other business owners had been useful.
"It can be quite good for your confidence to get out there and meet others and it's a good opportunity to market your business without breaking the bank."
Marlborough business owners are welcome to join the expo, which will be held on the last Thursday of every month at the Blenheim Club.

Is the region better served by having multiple events over one weekend or spread out throughout the year?Related story: (See story)
