The doorhandles of two vehicles were set alight in Blenheim overnight on Friday, police say.
Constable Andrew Holdaway, of Blenheim, said the vehicles were parked around the corner from each other in Weld St and Wither Rd.
Both vehicles had combustible material, believed to be grass, pushed into the front doorhandles.
The grass was then set on fire.
The vehicles had minor damage as the fire melted the doorhandles, Mr Holdaway said.
Police are asking anyone who has information on these two incidents or has had similar damage to their vehicle to contact Blenheim police on 03 578 5279.
Anonymous information can be given by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
