A man accused of attacking a Picton police officer last week has been remanded in custody.
John David Wright, 44, of Koromiko, appeared in the Blenheim District Court yesterday facing charges of wounding the officer with intent to injure and disorderly behaviour and was remanded in custody to reappear on March 18.
Defence lawyer Rob Harrison said Wright disagreed with the police version of events, but Judge Tony Zohrab said he was not convinced Wright would abide by bail conditions and the charges were serious.
