A 54-year-old man was seriously injured after falling 6 metres in Blenheim yesterday.
St John team operations manager Rebecca Lee said the man was working on some scaffolding attached to a house in Whitney St when he fell about 11.50am.
An ambulance arrived at the scene and called for intensive care paramedics after they saw the extent of the man’s injuries, Ms Lee said.
He suffered injuries to his head, legs, chest and abdomen.
He was taken by ambulance to Wairau Hospital in Blenheim.
A hospital spokeswoman said on Friday afternoon the man was in a serious but stable condition in the high dependency unit.
