Police arrested a 28-year-old unemployed man seen throwing a bottle and stones at traffic on Grove Rd, in Blenheim, on Tuesday.
The man was arrested at 1pm for disorderly behaviour on Horton St.
Constable Andrew Holdaway said the man received a pre-charge warning and was referred to Marlborough Mental Health Services.
Meanwhile, police say it is important to ensure all vehicles, sheds and garages are secure even when someone is at home, after two burglaries in the Blenheim area on Tuesday.
An offender entered a garage on Hutcheson St between noon and 6pm on Tuesday while the occupant of the house was at home, said Mr Holdaway.
The offender went through a freezer in the garage, but it is not known if anything was taken.
The occupant did not see or hear anything.
At 10am on Tuesday someone entered a Stuart St address and took a laptop computer and charger, a cellphone and charger, and a number of other personal items.
Police are investigating the burglaries, Mr Holdaway said.
