A 17-year-old male appeared in the Blenheim District Court yesterday facing two charges of assaulting a female after he twice assaulted his mother.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Graham Single told the court how Sean Michael Spence assaulted his mother on October 8 and 10 when she asked him to stop playing his gaming console.
In the first incident, Spence got up and punched his mother in the face and the stomach, and stomped on her left foot.
Two days later, Spence's mother asked him to get off the internet again and walked away when he refused.
He followed her out of his room, pushed her into the wall, and punched her in her left arm.
Judge Jan Kelly sentenced him to six months' supervision on both charges and a final protection order was issued against Spence.
