A teenager was flown to Wairau Hospital, in Blenheim, yesterday after the motorcycle he was riding left the road.
The 17-year-old rider sustained serious injuries after he crashed on State Highway 63 in the upper Wairau Valley, west of Blenheim, about 3.45pm.
The Nelson Marlborough Rescue helicopter and St John ambulance attended the scene.
The rider was treated by St John ambulance and the helicopter's onboard intensive care paramedic before being flown to Wairau Hospital.
