Case reviews were held in the Blenheim District Court yesterday for 11 of the people facing charges after being arrested during a police raid earlier this year.
Police carried out 20 search warrants around the country as part of Operation Farewell, and arrested 20 people, including seven patched Mongrel Mob members, police said. That included nine Marlborough addresses where 14 people were arrested.
All but four of the 11 people called in court yesterday had their attendance excused, and all but one were further remanded until March 19 for a case review hearing.
Shaun Verdun Tekahu, 42, was present in court and was denied bail. He faces 10 charges: two charges each of conspiring to supply methamphetamine, supplying methamphetamine, possession of cannabis, cultivating cannabis and unlawful possession of a firearm.
Kingi Hamlin Kaukau, 32, was further remanded on bail. He faces six charges including selling cannabis, attempting to acquire, offering to supply and supplying methamphetamine.
Aaron Shane Harris, 41, was present in court yesterday and was remanded on bail on two charges of conspiring to supply methamphetamine and supplying methamphetamine.
James Samuel Kiriona, 40, was remanded on 18 charges.
He has denied the charges, which include offering to sell cannabis, offering to supply methylphenidate hydrochloride and lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD), and conspiring to enter a building with intent to commit an imprisonable offence.
Leanne Marie Parr, 42, was further remanded on 24 charges including supplying methamphetamine, offering to supply methylphenidate hydrochloride (a psychoactive derivative of Ritalin) and cultivating a cannabis plant.
Glenda Suzanne Tengahue, 42, was in court and was remanded on bail on two charges of allowing her premises to be used for the sale of methamphetamine and of possession of methamphetamine.
Christopher Bishop Wallace Taurima, 47, was further remanded in custody on 55 charges.
Taurima's charges include supplying methamphetamine and offering to supply or sell drugs including methamphetamine, cannabis, methylphenidate hydrochloride (a derivative of Ritalin), and oxycontin (a pain reliever).
He is also charged with theft of a car, obstructing police, receiving stolen property, possession of methamphetamine, and sending a message to a woman knowing it contained a threat to kill or harm.
Denise Adele August, Tony Taurima and Taurus Aporo Taurima were also remanded until the March 19 case review hearing.
It is not known how many charges they are facing.
Amy Simone Elston also appeared in court yesterday, although her hearing was held in chambers.
The 45-year-old Witherlea woman is facing 52 charges and has been remanded to reappear on January 7.
