Police dog handlers were called to Picton yesterday after a man was stabbed in the hand.
St John Ambulance Marlborough territory manager Murray Neal said the 38-year-old man had a minor cut to his hand after he was stabbed with a broken pair of scissors.
He was treated at the scene by St John paramedics.
Marlborough police area commander Inspector Simon Feltham said dog handlers and police were called to Picton after a "minor incident" with a 16-year-old boy.
The incident was resolved and police were talking to the boy and his family, Mr Feltham said.
